Visual Stories.
With the naked eye we cannot see beyond horizons, through mountains or into the depths of the ocean. With sight alone, we can never fully visualise the construct of our own existence, it is protean in nature. Time and space are real, yet elusive. It seems then that we live in a world full of contradictions, both beautiful and ugly, predictable and surprising. Contained within it though are fleeting moments of discovery that tell a story. Stories I try to weave into the fabric of my work. Stories that we all have to tell. They are stories of time, experience, Love loss.
Like the ideas contained in a painting, the stories contained in a single photograph can be deeply subjective and can conjure joy just as easily as pain. They lend integrity to the subject matter. This integrity is fundamental in how I try to communicate ideas and information, be it through photography or graphic design.
